Support Our Nation's Best Under-14 Baseball Players

lumsdenBaseball New Zealand and The Lumsden in Newmarket are inviting all baseball fans in the Auckland area to spend a few dollars (CASH ONLY) on food and drinks and support the Under-14 team on their upcoming trip to Australia later this month.

On Sunday, 12 September, Baseball New Zealand and the nation's baseball community will celebrate and recognise the Under-14 National Baseball Team for an afternoon of good food and drink (CASH ONLY) at The Lumsden on Khyber Pass Road in Newmarket beginning at 12 noon.

The Lumsden's owner, Evan King, has offered to assist with fundraising once again at the Lumsden and in the park known as Lumsden Green on the corner of Khyber Pass Road and Broadway. For this event, King has generously pledged to donate all CASH SALES from his bar on the day. So come down on the 12th from 12 noon onwards and hit the ATM. Then order up some brunch, kick back, watch some sports and know that by just having a great day out in the park in a lovely restaurant, you are helping some of the nation's best young baseball players.

The team, which will be traveling to Australia on 17 September to compete in the annual Queensland State Under-14 Baseball Tournament, will be recognised and awarded their uniforms for this exciting trip and prestigious tournament that New Zealand will participate in for the very first time.

The Lumsden and The Mustang Saloon are located next door to each other on the corner of Khyber Pass Road and Broadway in Newmarket. Phone is 5501201. Websites are www.thelumsden.co.nz and www.themustangsaloon.com

In the September/October school holidays, Performance Baseball run by Scott and Aaron Campbell will be hosting a Spring Training Camp. Also attending is Howie Clark, with over 30 years of baseball experience including parts of 6 years in the Major Leagues.

The goal is to prepare players for the upcoming season in a professional programme that will allow them to learn new skills and develop their current abilities. This is an amazing opportunity to be around the best coaching New Zealand has ever seen.

Information about the camp is available at: www.performancebaseball.co.nz
